Volume Rendering enhances three
dimensional visualization of imaged tissue by providing translucent
rendering. In addition to the standard 3D image analysis tools, Volume
Rendering allows the user to interactively define thresholds for opacity,
color application, and brightness.

| |
| Benefits |
- Ability to quickly isolate tissue of interest
- Render volumetric data in three dimensions
- Translucent rendering of volumetric data provides more information
about a spatial relationships of different structures than standard
3D surface rendering
- Quickly provides 3D spatial information for enhanced diagnostic confidence,
improves surgical and treatment planning, and aids in education
|
| Features |
- Segmentation: Interactive and preset thresholds allow selection based
on pixel value. Virtual segmentation with preset or interactive translucence
based on density values
- Other tools include Scalpel, Cut Depth, Erosion, Dilation, and Subtraction
- Rendering: Translucent Volume, HD MIP, MIP, Min IP
- Shaded surface, RaySum, and Integral
- Color: gray-scale and interactive 3 color definition of translucent
volumes
