NonHodgkin's Lymphoma Study
Functional Anatomical
Mapping

Patient
History:
53 year old female with High Grade NonHodgkin?s lymphoma of
the cervix, after biopsy and partial removal of the tumor.
The patient was referred to base-line Ga-67 scintigraphy to
establish Ga-avidity of the lesion before treatment.
Imaging
Procedure:
SPECT of the pelvis was performed 48 hours after the injection
of 8 mCi Ga-67.
Findings:
Ga-SPECT shows an area of abnormal uptake in the right pelvis.
The combined image showed this uptake to be located in the
lymphoma in the cervix.
Clinical Impact - The FAM
Advantage
The differential diagnosis of findings on the nuclear medicine
study included physiologic excretion of Ga-67 in the bowel
and uptake in the lymphoma. The combined study allowed for
precise localization of the uptake in the tumor and established
Ga-67 avidity of the lymphoma in this patient. This will enable
further evaluation of treatment outcome using Ga-67 scintigraphy.
